Nothing but honest

I am a dance pop artist and songwriter from Edmonton, Alberta with a passion for raw experience and sincerity. My songs are my life, at the best moments and at the worst moments, and I hope you can see yourself in them too. I believe music is an honest and vulnerable way of life, so as a person and through my music, I promise to be nothing but honest.

RIELL is an international dance pop artist and songwriter from Edmonton, Alberta. RIELL shares her passion for raw experience and stories of adventure from around the globe, creating an innovative mix of artists like Dua Lipa, The Weeknd, and Halsey. RIELL is currently recording her debut album HIDE-AWAY featuring the production and mixing of Robbie Townsend and Brad Smith respectively of Velveteen Audio (two-time JUNO
winning band Ten Second Epic and JUNO nominated artist Nuela Charles have recorded and mixed with Velveteen Audio) as well as Randy Merrill for mastering (mastering credits for Lorde, Taylor Swift, and Adele).

The first single from HIDE-AWAY, “Somewhere New”, will be released in the Summer of 2018 accompanied by a music video. “Somewhere New is a song about wanderlust and growing into a person you never thought you could be by going places you never imagined you could go” says Riell. “It’s the perfect introduction to HIDE-AWAY because it sets the tone and premise of the album, which revolves around the concept of getting utterly and completely lost in order to create the person you want to be as opposed to ‘finding’ them.” The “Somewhere New” music video is the first of a four video series; each video is for one of the singles RIELL will be releasing before her debut album in the Spring of 2019.

RIELL has an extensive music background having completed her Grade 10 RCM for piano as well as a Bachelor of Music in Voice at MacEwan University. RIELL has played well over fifty venues and festivals around Alberta, most notably opening for charting artist Coleman Hell in 2016 and playing at the Jubilee, Winspear, and Shaw Conference Centre in Edmonton - capacities 1500 to 5000 people.

RIELL launched her career as a dance pop artist in September 2017 with the release of her single “Eye to Eye”. Since then, “Eye to Eye” has been featured in ads by Stylebuy Wholesale and on college radio in England and Germany. “Eye to Eye” is currently nominated for an Edmonton Music Award for Electronic Recording of the Year for 2017. She has proceeded to tour Europe, Africa, and Canada in the Spring of 2018, most notably playing for the Vice President of Sudan in the Republican Palace in Khartoum. RIELL will continue to tour in Canada, Europe, and the UK following her four single and album releases in the upcoming year.
